Instagram Feed Discontinued | Arctic Leaf

Instagram recently discontinued its legacy API, which connected Instagram's feed to your online store. As it no longer exists, new tokens are not being generated, and any tokens created using the legacy API have stopped working. Without this connection, your store cannot display your Instagram feed.

Luckily, BigCommerce, Shopify, and other platforms decided to provide you with some solutions. In future versions of their themes, the section where Instagram's feed is typically displayed will no longer available. This means you will have to use an external application or replace it with an image gallery.

So, what are the alternative solutions?

1. HardCode Images:

Our developers can hardcode images selected by you to create a "mock" Instagram feed. This method uses static images so if you want to update them, an Arctic Leaf developer would need to complete this for you at your hourly rate.

Offer includes:

  • Design
  • Development
  • Quality Assurance Testing

This option is not the most recommended since it will require you to spend much more time and planning so when you upload a picture, the same image will also be on your store. More money will also be required due to paying our developers to update your mock every time you upload a new image to your Instagram feed.

2. Page Builder for BigCommerce Stores:

Page builder by BigCommerce is another option on the table and a brand new feature. If you add the BigCommerce Page Builder widget to your store, you can edit site pages much more easily using a drag-and-drop visual editing tool. Change your header, add galleries, and a "mock" simulating the Instagram Feed. The best part?
No coding required.

3. Online Store Builder for Shopify Stores:

Other recommendation, Online Store Builder by Shopify. With this feature, you have the ability to customize and personalize any Shopify theme you choose using a wide range of tools. As you make changes, you can check them in real time and code if you want to. By using this builder, you'll be able to make a gallery simulating your Instagram feed and update it any time you want.

4. Integrate Juicer.io:

The best option for us? Use an Instagram Feed app. The one we recommend is Juicer.io, which dynamically pulls in your Instagram feed. The cost of this app ranges from free to $199 USD per month.

Offer includes:

  • App Integration
  • Quality Assurance Testing

With this alternative, you don't have to worry about your feed being updated. We integrate the app to your store once, and every time you upload a new photo to your Instagram, it will be replicated in real-time on your store. This means your feed will always stay fresh and up-to-date.
*App subscription not included.
